There exists an important difference between translated texts and localised texts. A localised text is a translated text which considers all cultural nuances, customs and values. The text would thus appear as if it originated in the language into which it has been translated. At Multilingo we translate every document with the target market in mind.


In some instances, especially with marketing material and advertising material, a localised translation will not be sufficient to convey the true essence of the original copy. When copywriting material needs to be translated it may be necessary to have the original copy reworked and adapted into the target language by a professional copywriter, in a procedure called copy adaptation.


The copywriter will adapt the copy and ensure that the true meaning is conveyed to its target audience. Copywriters endeavour to achieve the correct style, taking their lead from the original copy and client briefs. It is a creative process and is often a better option for editorials, press releases, marketing and advertising material.
